Channel letters consist of a group of metal "pans" shaped like letters. Each "pan" houses the electrical and lighting components to illuminate each letter. These mount directly to a buildings fascia or raceway. An acrylic faces is then attached to the letter using trim cap material. The face is typically colored and translucent, enabling the sign to be sign at a great distances during the day and light up at night.
